Quite a bit unless your a noble and quite a lot especially if they have a decnet rep.
I wanna say that the average soldier is paid 5sp per week plus food and such. but i havent looked for that sort of thing lately |

that sounds close to what i have been charging (or overcharging actually, because I am charging like a silver mark more... I don't want to encourage army building too much...)

Don't forget to count the mercinary help as a PC when you divvy out experiance.
Knowing that they'll be gaining levels slower with the hired help is a pretty good army deterant. You should have seen the look on my groups collective face when they first found out that they wouldnt be gaining a level because of their hired muscle. Them: what do you mean we dont get a level 10000 divided by four is 2500 thats the next level. Me: yes... but 10000 divvided by eight doesnt quite get you there. Them: .....  Okay... uhm sorry Dirk, Vance, Ed, Johann its been great but we cant afford to pay you guys anymore. Me: You think they'll believe that after they saw the monster's horde? Them:  okay... we grab the treaure and ditch the mercs!

You do have a point. So, if I assume that they eat straight trail rations, that would be 55 sp weekly...
